Song titles in order
Below are some song samples from shows at Puck, Indie Music Night, and Tin Angel. Your Bitter Half and 100 Years from Today were recorded at Puck in April 2009. The Sky Will Be Jealous was recorded with a hand-held recorder and is from from Indie Music Night near Princeton, NJ. Secret Place was recorded at Tin Angel in Philadelphia a number of years ago. It is an acoustic version of a Stranger To Stranger song and Steph Lentz from STS sat in on bass that night.
Relationshifts is the second CD from Elliot and Gary. You can buy it directly from the band, from CDBaby.com, and Napster, Apple iTunes, Rhapsody, MusicNet, MusicMatch, American Idol Underground, Iriver Media Online, and many others too numerous to name. The CD contains fourteen songs ranging in style from Elliot's sparse "Waltz #3", to Gary's power pop rockers "Zero" and "Mary Jane". There's Elliot's "Love Games" which features English Beat rhythmical verses before erupting into a three-guitar tradeoff ala The Beatles on Abbey Road. Three very electric openers give way to Gary's bittersweet "Fade", highlighted by Emily Gorlin's haunting French horn. You can definitely hear Elliott Smith, Jeff Buckley, and Badly Drawn Boy influences in what they did this time around. However, there are little electronic embellishments in some of the songs that hint at possible future directions. Radiohead, the late Love Spit Love, and Sparklehorse continue to be prime inspirers as well.
by Derek Crozer... Derek has been associated with Gary Eshbaugh since the
very first days of Stranger To
Stranger. He's always around and is handy with superlative and hyperbole.
During the recording of Relationshifts there were thoughts of
including a number of short eclectic pieces. The two songs on the CD not
recorded at Target Studio were initially written for this purpose; interestingly, neither of those two songs ended up being short.
"Dangerous" was another and appeared in the live set a few times, but
it was really written too late to be considered for the CD.
From 1996 through late 1998, under the name Faith, Gary and Elliot recorded Lovestruck with Marc Moss producing at Target Studio. The CD is comprised of fourteen songs rich with melody, harmony, and great guitar tones. Lovestruck is available from CDBaby.com, from the band directly, or from Napster, Apple iTunes, Rhapsody, MusicNet, MusicMatch, American Idol Underground, Iriver Media Online, and many others too numerous to name.
